Below you can read my days thoughts on running. Some days I
will write about my day on the road. Some days I will write about
thoughts on training, racing, efficiency, marathons, or whatever
crosses my mind while I am on the road. Perhaps you will laugh.
Perhaps you will be inspired. On occasion you may even be saddened.
I post these thoughts just to keep the thought of today's run fresh...
If anything below inspires you, drop me a line and let me know.

My last entry, in September, wrote of a beautiful Memorial Day 20k.
The weather was perfect, the race went well, and all was good. This
time, I will write of somewhat the opposite. This past Saturday
(10/8) was the Greater Hartford Marathon (GHM). The weather was
not ideal. Pouring rain, and driving winds made for a difficult
day on the road. I decided, a while ago, that I would try to give
something back to the running community by volunteering to be a
pace setter at the GHM. I was assigned the 3:30 group. This is a
great group to run with. Well the weather tooks its toll on all
of us. As this pace was comfortable for me, I was able to finish
in 3:29:59. (I hate when I miss my target like that). I felt pretty
poor though. Starting with a group of 35, and only being able to
carry 1 runner in was pretty disappointing. It seems as though I
should have been able to help more.

Success! The Fitness Expo at the Greater Hartfor Marathon went well.
We met a bunch of really great runners. We were able to provide
several people with race plans. The conditions on Saturday were
tough, but preliminary feedback says the the course descriptions,
and pace predictions were very helpful to all those who participated.
We inspired to continue, and expand the Course Performance race
portfolio. We will be adding several marathons for the Spring. If
there is one you are inetersted in, let us know comments@courseperformance.com!
