Below you can read my days thoughts on running. Some days I will write about my day on the road. Some days I will write about thoughts on training, racing, efficiency, marathons, or whatever crosses my mind while I am on the road. Perhaps you will laugh. Perhaps you will be inspired. On occasion you may even be saddened. I post these thoughts just to keep the thought of today's run fresh... If anything below inspires you, drop me a line and let me know. comments@courseperformance.com

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! The new year has started out with some challenges for my training. My "day job", my family, and my running are competing for my time. My priorities in life (unfortunately for my running) put running at the bottom of this list. Fortunately for my running, sleep is even below running. This has gotten me up at 3 am to ensure that I get my run in. I have also tried to put together a training plan for my build-up to Boston. This plan has me doing long runs on Monday mornings well before the sun rises. I have invested in all of the night time running safety equipment.

I have also made my marathon plans for this year. I will be running Boston this Spring, and New York this fall. I have a guarenteed entry qualifying time for New York, so I can make those plans now (without worrying about the lottery). I may also run Hartford as a pacer again. I would use this as a final tune-up for New York; however, I have not made this final decision.

I realize that I am a little behind in defining Course Performance marathons for the spring, but I hope to have them defined over the next couple of weeks. Hang in there, and hopefully, you won't be disappointed...
