Below you can read my days thoughts on running. Some days I will write about my day on the road. Some days I will write about thoughts on training, racing, efficiency, marathons, or whatever crosses my mind while I am on the road. Perhaps you will laugh. Perhaps you will be inspired. On occasion you may even be saddened. I post these thoughts just to keep the thought of today's run fresh... If anything below inspires you, drop me a line and let me know. comments@courseperformance.com

This summer has been quite frustrating for me. I ran a PR this past April in Boston, and I was on top of the world. It has really taken me all summer to truely recover. My race times have been significantly off until Labor Day. I ran the New Haven Road Race, the national championship 20k. I ran 20 seconds off my PR for the race. This signaled to me that I was back in racing shape.

I also recently decided to volunteer to be a pace leader for the Greater Hartford Marathon this year. I will be leading the 3:30 group again. I did this last year, and had a good time. Hopefully this year will go well again. Having made this decision, I decided to try to build up my mileage quickly (I haven't run further than 13 miles since Boston). I think I tried too quickly. I strained my right calf this past weekend. It seems to be healing quickly, but I am not sure I will be ready for the Hogsback 1/2 myself. Less than 2 weeks. I hope to see you there!
